THERMA-FIT Work Gloves, 12 Pair
THERMA-FIT Work Gloves, 12 Pair
I am very picky about work-gloves. In my bunkers, I carry three kinds of gloves: fire gloves, extric gloves, and a pair of these. I wear these the most of the three.
In fact, I wear them off-duty a ton too. I buy a 12-pack every couple years and distribute them around my life: a pair in my bunkers, a pair in my locker, a couple pair in my pick-up, a pair in the garage, a pair in my snow-shovelling coat, etc. I use them for teaching, I use them all the time.
The dexterity they offer is superb, the rubber grip is super-grippy when handling tools. If you watch any of our training videos, I'm usually wearing a pair of these. I like that they are cheaper than mechanic's gloves and extrication gloves, and when I wear them out or lose one, I just reach in the bag for another pair.
These are the THERMAL versions (not the lightweight cotton gloves), so they do good job of keeping your hands warm in the winter and they're not that much hotter in the summer either.
After the fire is out, and the smoke clears, I switch to these for mop-up and the final stages of overhaul and rolling hose. Great for hose-testing and checking hydrants.
***WARNING: I think it goes without saying that you should NEVER wear these or any other gloves other than certified fire gloves for active firefighting. But I'll say it anyway: NEVER WEAR ANYTHING INTO A FIRE OTHER THAN RATED FIRE GLOVES.
