The RISE ABOVE SHOVE-KEY
The RISE ABOVE SHOVE-KEY
Designed by RISE ABOVE FIRE TRAINING & expertly fabricated by TRADESMAN FIRE & FABRICATION! A combination shove knife/bent-end key tool that is perfect for your pocket, radio strap, or helmet band!
In our thru-the-lock classes, we always teach that TTL forcible entry is done mostly on lower priority calls, and rarely on working fires.....with the exception of a working fire at a commercial building with glass storefront doors.
I've carried a Maxx-Rex halligan as part of my personal irons-set for over a decade now. So walking up to these buildings, I can pull a mortise cylinder very quickly. That's Phase One.
Phase Two is me sliding this small bent-end key tool out of my helmet band and retracting the latch. That's a 20-second solo entry on a commercial building that can be done during the 360 without breaking glass and feeding the fire oxygen accidentally.
The other end of the tool is a classic-style shove knife....familiar design & wonderful for loiding the latches of outward-swinging doors with mortise or bored locks.
We get these delivered from TRADESMAN flat as a pancake. You can buy it flat and bend the tip yourself in a bench-vise (it's not hard, honest). Or for a few more bucks, we'll bend it for you!
All the bends in the pictures listed here show it bent in a RIGHT-HAND configuration. If you're a southpaw, we recommend the left-hand version which is bent in the opposite direction.
Six inches long in flat configuration, five inches long when bent.
Weighs just over HALF AN OUNCE!!
