The NEW version of the HD Bar from Fire Hooks Unlimited, the bar they released in the 90s to compete with the cheapie Paratech and Zico 3-pieces that were outselling everybody because of the ridiculously low-price (and quality to match).
Unlike those, the HD Bar is made of a gun-barrel steel shaft and two drop-forged working ends that are WELDED in place, not pinned. The adz is slender and has slight curve similar to the Pro Bar, and the fork has squared shoulders and pre-marked gap and set lines just like the Maxximus halligans.
Look....if you've got the money, we recommend the Pro-Bar or Maxx-Mod. A single piece all drop-forged tool is always gonna be the way to go. But we too have worked for fire chiefs that are operating on a tight budget, and these bars are strong enough that we've used them in our classes without any issues, and the price tag is $70 less than the price of the Pro Bar (and the Paratech 3-pieces too).
